Cabin Fever Reliever Fundraiser at the History Center
4:30-7:30 Supper served and children's activities
7 p.m. Dance begins!
Mark your calendar for a family friendly evening of great food and music! This will be the first time that the public is invited into the new Steele County History Center. Enjoy a roast beef dinner from Culver's, plus dessert from the Blooming Prairie Bakery and a non alcoholic beverage and then dance to the "Fabulous Love Handles!" Special children's activities including "ice fishing," duct tape crafts, a Native American Pokeon (hacky sack), and kiddie parade will be part of this "flannel festival." We'll crown the King and Queen of flannel this evening, too. So break out your best Fargo or Red Green outfit and join in the fun! Schell's brewery products available, too!
Tickets are $20 for the meal and dance. Children's menu available for $5.00 (includes hot dog, chips, and drink)
Advance sale tickets are available at the SCHS office and Kottke Jewelers in Owatonna, or you may call 507-451-1420 to reserve tickets.

Village of Yesteryear tour season begins!
Guided tours are offered daily at 1:30 and last approximately an hour and a half. Tours are offered Tuesday through Sunday until September 30th. Adults $5, children 6-17 $3, 6 and under FREE. Please come to the History Center to start your tour.

Extravaganza
11 a.m. till 5 p.m.
Our largest event of the year! Music, food, historic demonstrations, blacksmithing, soap making, handwork demonstrations, an antique tractor show and parade, horse-drawn rides, OZ Printing Press, and more await you during this family day of historically related fun! The Regulators will be on hand to entertain you and take you back to the "old west". All Village buildings are open to enjoy. FREE admission, donations are appreciated.

Steele County FREE Fair
Visit the Village from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, August 14th, and then from noon till 9 p.m. each day, except Sunday when hours are noon till 6 p.m. This is Minnesota's largest county fair! The Village will feature entertainment, and don't forget to stop by and have an old-fashioned float with your choice of Henry Weinhard's soda and lots of ice cream! Steve's Meat Market meat sticks are also available. FREE admission to all buildings, but a donation of $1 per person is appreciated at the Dunnell House.
History Roundtable discussion on Thursday, August 16th at 10 a.m. at the History Center. "From Horses to Tractors" will be the topic.

Christmas in the Village
A Victorian Christmas awaits you at the Village of Yesteryear! Horse-drawn sleigh rides, Santa and Mrs. Claus, our famous fancy cookie sale, music, and more! Children can decorate cookies and make a Christmas "cracker" to take home. Wassail is served in General Store, and the Dunnell House is lavishly decorated for the holidays. FREE admission, but donations are appreciated.
